Never. All processing happens 100% on-device using CoreML and Apple's Accelerate framework. No audio data ever leaves your Mac. No telemetry, no analytics on your audio.

What macOS versions does Opus support?

macOS Sonoma 14.2 or later. Apple Silicon required (M1, M2, M3, M4 — any chip). Opus uses native HAL driver APIs that require Apple Silicon architecture.

Yes. Opus includes 20+ device-specific profiles for AirPods, Sony WH-1000XM, Bose QC, JBL, Marshall, and more. Each profile auto-detects your device and applies optimized processing including Bluetooth codec headroom protection.

Can I use Opus for music production?

Opus is designed for listening enhancement, not production. It enhances system-wide audio playback — ideal as a monitoring enhancement tool, but it does not intercept DAW internal routing.

Opus ("the App") is developed by OpusAI ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Audio Data

Your audio never leaves your device. All audio processing in Opus happens 100% on-device using Apple's CoreML and Accelerate frameworks. No audio data is transmitted, stored, or analyzed on any external server. We have zero access to what you listen to.

3. Data We Collect

We collect minimal data necessary to operate the service:

Account & Subscription: Managed entirely by Apple via StoreKit 2. We receive a transaction receipt to validate your subscription status. We do not see your Apple ID, payment details, or personal information.
Analytics (Website): Our website uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics service. No personal data is collected. All data is aggregated and anonymous.
Crash Reports: If enabled by you in macOS settings, anonymous crash reports may be sent to Apple. We access aggregated, anonymized crash data through App Store Connect to fix bugs.
Email (Optional): If you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address for product updates only. You can unsubscribe at any time.

5. iCloud Sync

Opus uses iCloud Key-Value Storage to sync your EQ presets and preferences across your devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is not accessible to us.

6. Third-Party Services

Apple StoreKit 2: Subscription management (Apple's privacy policy applies)
Sparkle: Auto-update framework for macOS. Checks for updates via HTTPS; no personal data is sent.
Plausible Analytics: Website analytics only. No cookies, no personal data. Plausible privacy policy.

7. Data Retention

Since we collect virtually no personal data, there is minimal data to retain. Newsletter emails are retained until you unsubscribe. Subscription receipts are retained for the duration of your subscription plus any legally required retention period.

8. Your Rights
